Wondercon - Cloak & Dagger - Olivia Holt & Aubrey Joseph Interview

Olivia Holt was born in Germantown, Tennessee to parents, Mark and Kim Holt. When she was only 3 years old, she started singing and acting on the stage. Besides acting and singing, she has been a competitive gymnastic for the past 5 years, and a competitive cheerleader for the past few years. At Christmas time, Holt moved with her family from DeSoto County to Los Angeles.

She starred in numerous community productions, including "Annie" and "Through the Looking Glass", before landing a role in the indie film, Black and Blue (2009). She also appeared in multiple national TV commercials, including Hasbro, Mattel and Bratz dolls.

In 2011, Olivia got her break out role as "Kim Crawford", a confident martial artist and the only girl in the dojo who can go toe-to-toe with the boys, in the Disney XD comedy series, Kickin' It (2011).

Aubrey Joseph is an actor, known for Run All Night (2015), Cloak & Dagger (2018) and Fading Gigolo (2013).

STORYLINE
Two teenagers from very different backgrounds find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love.

  • Attended an acting convention in 2008 where she received first place awards for best actress, best scene, and print model of the year.
  • Is signed with Abrams Artist Agency and Ford Models.
  • Was on her school's chess team.
  • Has been a competitive gymnast for five years.
  • Has been a singer/actress since the age of three.
  • Has one elder sister, actress/writer/director Morgan Toll - who has studied theatre arts at Columbia College in Hollywood. They also have a brother, Cade Holt.
  • Besides being an actress, black belt, gymnast and singer, she is a cheerleader and has competed in numerous cheer-tournaments.
  • Her best friend outside the Kickin' It (2011) cast is fellow actress Jadin Gould.
  • Olivia's middle name, Hastings, is also the maiden name of her paternal grandmother.
  • According to Olivia, the scariest day of her life was when her brother Cade fell from a pier onto some rocks...badly cutting his head. "I watched him being taken away by the ambulance," she recalls. "We'd always been really close; and now I was rooted to the spot where he'd fallen, as all our moments together came flooding back. So there I was - alone, on my knees and in tears - because I thought he was going to die." Fortunately, Cade soon recovered; he and Olivia have been closer than ever since then, according to herself.
  • Has her own advice column - "Hey, Olivia!" - in TIGER BEAT magazine. She also has her own show on Radio Disney (1110 AM) at 2 PM every Thursday.
