HollyShorts - See You Soon - Jennifer Chambers & Meredith Bishop Interview

Jennifer is a Los Angeles based director and actor. She has directed the world premier of The Cake by Bekah Brunstetter, Sheila Callaghan’s Bed, Daryl Watson’s Unbound, Jessica Goldberg’s Better, the world premiere of Stephen Belber’s The Muscles in Our Toes, The Pain and The Itch by Bruce Norris, Playdates by Sam Wolfson, The Land of the Blacks by Michael Shaw Fischer, What are you Doing on the Bed? by Shawna Casey and the world premiere of Complete by Andrea Kuchlewska. She directed the workshop of Deborah Stein’s Princess Diana in Auschwitz at Cal Arts. She was associate artistic director at the Echo Theater Company and ran the playwrights lab for 3 years. She just completed the short film See You Soon by Meredith Bishop. 

She has directed numerous Living Room Series readings at The Blank Theater and is a mentor/director for The Virginia Avenue Project. She has assisted Jonathan Moscone on Shaw’s Man and Superman at Cal Shakespeare and Liz Diamond on Crooked by Catherine Trieschmann. As an actor, she has worked with The National Actor’s Theater, The Ensemble Studio Theatre, Rattlestick Playwright’s Theatre, Pandora Productions, Santa Monica Rep, The Echo Theater Company and Theatre of Note. She has done extensive work as a voice over artist and can be heard selling some of your favorite products and voicing the campaigns from some of your favorite politicians (well, I guess that depends on what your politics are but, you know what I mean…) She has a BS in Theatre from Northwestern University and an MA in Counseling Psychology/Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She is a member of SAG/AFTRA, AEA, and a member of SDC.

Meredith Bishop was born on January 15, 1976 in Los Angeles, California, USA as Meredith Anne Bishop. She is an actress and producer, known for Grip and Electric (2016).

ABOUT HOLLYSHORTS
HollyShorts Film Festival is an organization devoted to showcasing the best and brightest short films from around the globe, advancing the careers of filmmakers through screenings, networking events, and various panel and forums. The Oscar Qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival showcases the top short films produced 40- minutes or less. Categories include Short Animation, Short Live Action, Short Documentary, Music Video, Webisode, Commercials, TV, and Digital Microbudget.

HollyShorts takes place August 9-18, 2018 at the TCL Chinese Theater, Harmony Gold Theater and other locations in Hollywood. Nearly 400 short films will compete for the festival’s top prizes. Last year HollyShorts finalists included 3 out of the 5 Live Action Oscar nominees and the winning short Silent Child from Rachel Shenton and Chris Overton. This year, HollyShorts received an all-time record 5,000 submissions from over 80 countries. The competition will feature Live Action, Animation and Documentary Shorts as well as web series, student shorts, music videos, TV pilots, and VR. The festival also features a screenplay competition where the winning short gets greenlit, shot and shown at next year’s festival courtesy of Seattle Film Summit.
