The world that Mary Ting creates in Crossroads is simply beautiful. Between life and death, there is Crossroads—a place where the souls of people with near death experiences or in comas wander around. When Claudia Emerson’s friend is killed in an accident, she dreams about Crossroads and unknowingly steps into it. On one of her visits, she meets a half angel and half human Nephilim named Michael. Fascination grows with one another and they develop feelings for each other. Since Claudia is the only human to ever visit Crossroads, the evil group known as the Fallen seek her as they believe she is special.

The plot of this book is truly amazing and very much interesting. The writing style of Mary Ting is superb and high-class. The descriptions of this remarkable world are rich and bursting with amazement. The character Claudia is very interesting. Nephilims are interesting by nature but Michael was just mesmerizing. The forbidden love between Claudia and Michael is truly heart-wrenching.

This beautifully written book by Mary Ting contains action, twists, turns, forbidden love, and covers self-discovery, loss, and desire. Although it presented many twists and turns along the way, the pace of the book moved along well as readers try to search for clues as to why Claudia is able to channel into Crossroads. A feeling of completeness will overcome after reading this book. The second book, Between, is already out and I’m sure it will have the same caliber as its predecessor.
