HollyShorts: Jameson - John Humber & Ben Andrews Interview Part One

John Humber is a director, writer and producer, based in Los Angeles, CA.

Ben Andrews is a Seattle based director, actor and producer. He's directed numerous, award winning short films, including the Sheets Must Be Silk, The Three Stars and Stop Requested. Films he's produced or directed have been in over 150 films festivals around the world. He's the founder of the Seattle Film Summit, now going into it's 4th year, of what is now being called Seattle's micro-AFM. Ben is co-owner of NW Talent Management and also an accomplished actor, He's been on over 200 film/TV sets and can most recently be seen on national TV shows The Librarians, Restaurant Impossible, Z-Nation, and TLC's Escaping The Prophet.

A man's peaceful life is disrupted when three dangerous travelers lay siege to his secluded cabin in the woods.

ABOUT THE CAST
Brad Carter ― Jameson
Brad Carter was born on December 5, 1973 in Fort Worth, Texas, USA as David Bradley Carter. He is an actor and editor, known for True Detective (2014), Sons of Anarchy(2008) and Black Mass (2015).

James Grixoni ― Shelby
James Grixoni was born and raised in Seattle Washington. He attended his local conservatory for four years at the age of fourteen and began doing professional theatre at the age of eighteen with his debut of Peter-Pan at Book-it Theatre. After a couple years of professional theatre, James decided to stay true to his original focus, film. Whilst creating a comedy troupe, performing skits and starring in local indie films, James was granted the opportunity to shadow Tobey Maguire as his body double in "The Details", directed by Jacob Aaron Estes. 

The education he received was invaluable. A few years later, James found himself performing in a punk band in Philadelphia; and subsequently the film, "The Bhakti Boy", directed by Joy Marzec. The experience allowed him to grow as an artist and really work on honing his skills in front of the camera. Upon returning to the west coast, James had the pleasure of working on films, television series, music videos and shorts. A few favorites include "Worst Laid Plans" directed by Mark Jones and Nesib CB Shamah, "You Cant Win" directed by Robinson Devor and "Twin Peaks" directed by David lynch. James continues to grow in his craft and his community. He practices yoga and meditation and has noticed a significant improvement in his reality. He also practices comedy on the daily for he believes laughter is the foundation to health.

Tony Doupe ― Blake
Tony Doupe is an actor and producer, known for Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), Wild(2014) and Laggies (2014).

Taylor McKinney ― Hicks
Taylor McKinney is an actor, known for The Body (2017), Co-Op (2018) and Jameson(2018).

Maliyah James - Young Ginger
Maliyah James is an actor, known for Jameson (2018).

Jasmine Wright ― Ginger
Jasmine Wright is an actress and dancer known for her work on TNT, SyFy, and Pure Flix, where she has graced the screen with stars such as Donna Mills, Rebecca Romijn, and Kellita Smith. She has also toured nationally and internationally with Disney Live! stage shows. When not working, Jasmine takes time to volunteer with foundations for the homeless, as well as animal shelters.

LOCATION: HOLLYSHORTS, THE CHINESE THEATER, HOLLYWOOD, CA ― AUGUST 9TH - 18TH
INTERVIEW: AUGUST 12, 2018

HollyShorts takes place August 9-18, 2018 at the TCL Chinese Theater, Harmony Gold Theater and other locations in Hollywood. Nearly 400 short films will compete for the festival’s top prizes. Last year HollyShorts finalists included 3 out of the 5 Live Action Oscar nominees and the winning short Silent Child from Rachel Shenton and Chris Overton. This year, HollyShorts received an all-time record 5,000 submissions from over 80 countries. The competition will feature Live Action, Animation and Documentary Shorts as well as web series, student shorts, music videos, TV pilots, and VR. The festival also features a screenplay competition where the winning short gets greenlit, shot and shown at next year’s festival courtesy of Seattle Film Summit.
