HollyShorts: Always - David S. Hogan, Angela DiMarco & Madelyn Grace Interview

Angela DiMarco is an actor and producer known for The Parish, Brides To Be, Narco Hitman, and Switchmas with Elliott Gould. Angela's Directorial debut, Always, had it's international premiere in the 2018 Short Film Corner as part of the Festival de Cannes, and it's US premiere in SIFF 2018.

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington. Angela was cast in her first feature film when she was 10 years old. She attended Summit K-12 Alternative School of the Arts, then studied in a BFA program before moving to Los Angeles. In 2012 she moved back to Seattle, launched Mighty Tripod Productions and Acting Studio with her husband, David S. Hogan. They produce short films, feature films, teach on-going classes and offer private coaching to actors all over the US. Angela continues to be a working and teaching artist on both stage and screen. With a focus on the importance of Women in Film.

Madelyn Grace is an actress, known for The Orville (2017), Portlandia (2011) and Z Nation (2014).

David S. Hogan is an actor and producer known for Z Nation (2014), The Device (2014), and Grimm (2011). He was raised in Seattle, Washington by James and Susan Hogan. He holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Seattle University, where he also studied music, psychology, and drama. After graduation, he hit the boards, working often with Seattle Shakespeare Company, where he played roles like Puck, Caliban, Antony, and King Henry. He is a three time winner of the Seattle Times Footlight Award for Stellar Acting. He also plays an important role in the Seattle independent film scene, where he teaches acting for the camera and promotes the northwest film and television industry.

HollyShorts takes place August 9-18, 2018 at the TCL Chinese Theater, Harmony Gold Theater and other locations in Hollywood. Nearly 400 short films will compete for the festival’s top prizes. Last year HollyShorts finalists included 3 out of the 5 Live Action Oscar nominees and the winning short Silent Child from Rachel Shenton and Chris Overton. This year, HollyShorts received an all-time record 5,000 submissions from over 80 countries. The competition will feature Live Action, Animation and Documentary Shorts as well as web series, student shorts, music videos, TV pilots, and VR. The festival also features a screenplay competition where the winning short gets greenlit, shot and shown at next year’s festival courtesy of Seattle Film Summit.
