HollyShorts: Echoes in the Ice - BJ Verot Interview

Stephen Eric McIntyre ― Gareth
Stephen Eric McIntyre is an actor, known for The Lookout (2007), Cashing In (2009) and High Life (2009).

Aidan Ritchie ― Nick
Aidan Ritchie is an actor and director, known for Dark Corners (2013), How It Ends (2018) and A Ghost Story (2015).

Jeff Strome ― Mark
Jeff Strome is known for his work on Goon (2011), Bravetown (2015) and Siberia (2018).

Darcy Fehr ― Hennigan
Darcy Fehr made his onscreen acting debut in Guy Maddin's The Cock Crew (1997) and has performed in over 60 productions in film, television and live theatre since. Recent television and film credits include, Before Anything You Say (2016), Juliana and the Medicine Fish (2016) and Considering Love and Other Magic (2016). Beginning his career as a stage actor, Darcy returned to the theatre over the last few years receiving critical praise for his performance as "George" in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (2014) and playing "Rupert Cadell" in a stage adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's Rope (2013). In 2014, Fehr won the ACTRA MB best actor award for his performance in Euphoria (2013) and in 2012 he was nominated for the ACTRA MB best actor award for his work in Passionflower (2011). Over the span of his career, he has worked numerous times with Canadian filmmaker Guy Maddin, most recently in the critically acclaimed feature film, Forbidden Room (2015).


Four men explore an abandoned research facility. Within the station unsettling signs of disorder are revealed, and in the lowest level of the facility, a chilling discovery is made.

LOCATION: HOLLYSHORTS, THE CHINESE THEATER, HOLLYWOOD, CA ― AUGUST 9TH - 18TH
INTERVIEW: AUGUST 10, 2018

HollyShorts takes place August 9-18, 2018 at the TCL Chinese Theater, Harmony Gold Theater and other locations in Hollywood. Nearly 400 short films will compete for the festival’s top prizes. Last year HollyShorts finalists included 3 out of the 5 Live Action Oscar nominees and the winning short Silent Child from Rachel Shenton and Chris Overton. This year, HollyShorts received an all-time record 5,000 submissions from over 80 countries. The competition will feature Live Action, Animation and Documentary Shorts as well as web series, student shorts, music videos, TV pilots, and VR. The festival also features a screenplay competition where the winning short gets greenlit, shot and shown at next year’s festival courtesy of Seattle Film Summit.
